Payment Processing Issues

  1. What does it mean when a payment is completed with paypal but my entry says "processing"? When I look inside of paypal it says payment completed...

  2. That means the IPN was not received from PayPal. Gravity Forms did not receive a notification from PayPal to know the payment was completed. You can resend the IPN from PayPal for each transaction, but you will need to find out why the IPN is not reaching Gravity Forms. You can browse these topics and see some of what was previously written about IPN.

  3. This is going to sound silly, but do you know how to resend the IPN? #noobquestion

  4. Actually, this may be more helpful in actually figuring out my problem.

I had initially setup my entire WP installation on a test server, and set the IPN callback in Paypal to the test server URL. After moving to the production server, I realized it was still set to the old URL and I changed it. I now have two transactions that are stuck "Processing" and have been for almost a week.

I have two completed transactions (one pre-change, one post-change) and can see those in my IPN history in Paypal, but not the two "processing" transactions. I assume the two pending transactions are still trying to get in touch with the old IPN, which is no longer in paypal so they're lost without a map (may be a big assumption).

Is my only option to contact the two people and get them to donate again so they'll process through correctly?

  5. You should be able to log in to PayPal and resend any IPN as many times as you want. Are you able to see the transactions there? If not, we will have to change the status in your WordPress installation manually, so long as you know the payment was processed successfully.

  6. That was the funny thing, I can only find the two transactions I know were completed, but not the two listed as pending. So as far as Paypal looks, I'm not sure the request ever got there. I'm pretty sure the two transactions I can't find would have been sent to the other IPN URL, though the email address should have been the same.

If I manually change the status to failed, does it let the user know?

  7. I just looked at my transactions, and I now have 3 more "Processing" transactions in my GF entries that I can't find in the Paypal IPN history page. Am I just looking in the wrong place?

  8. Just experienced the same thing. Payments made via Credit Card and no PayPal account we're shown in GF as "processing." Payment made via a PayPal account was shown as "approved." Resent IPN from PayPal on the CC transactions and GF was updated to "approved." I really hope we don't need to do this every time someone uses a CC.
