Payment Status showing Processing

  1. I am at a loss. I've searched through docs; forums; recreated forms; re-established paypal sandbox accounts; etc. No matter what, my GV entry Payment Status shows Processing.

    Overview:
    - I've setup a very simple form to use PP Standard.
    - I've made sure the email address is correct in the GV PP settings (using my PP sandbox business account)
    - GV Mode settings is Test
    - All other settings look correct
    - IPN URL has been added to sandbox business account
    - PP sandbox Business account shows payment status Completed
    - PP sandbox Personal account shows payment status Completed

Yet, my GV entries all show Payment Status as Processing.

    WHAT am I missing???

    Please help. Thanks.

  2. Can you check the IPN status of the transaction at PayPal and let us know what it says?

When the payment shows "Processing" at Gravity Forms, is Gravity Forms did not receive the IPN from PayPal. There are lots of reason for that, but we need to confirm first what the status of the IPN is at PayPal.

Please also post a link to your site where the form in question is.

    Thank you.

  3. Well... I didn't know there was an IPN history page :) Thx.

So... There is no IPN history :-/ I don't know why. The IPN URL is definitely entered and enabled on my sandbox business account. Yet, it would appear that PayPal is not sending the IPN request. I suppose this is a PayPal issue at this point. If you have any experience with why this might be happening, I'd welcome some advice.

    My form is at http://pawdraw.com/test-order

  4. Can you post a screenshot of this page at PayPal?
    https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_profile-ipn-notify

And, did you check the box "Confirm that your have configured your PayPal account to enable IPN" on the PayPal settings page here http://pawdraw.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_settings&addon=PayPal

IPN needs to be notified and there needs to be a URL entered there, but the notification URL will always be http://pawdraw.com/?page=gf_paypal_ipn for your site for Gravity Forms submission when using the PayPal add-on, no matter what URL is entered at PayPal.

I found a good explanation online which may help you:

Linking it here so I don't forget about it.

  5. Thanks.
I had already triple checked the settings you describe. Here are the screenshots. I've included the PP IPN settings from both my production account and the business sandbox account:

  6. Looks like you have it set up correctly. Can you ask PayPal why there is no IPN history when you have IPN enabled?

  7. I sent an inquiry to PayPal and am waiting for a response.

In the meantime, is there a way to look at exactly what is being sent to PayPal? Like, is there a debug log or something?

    thx.

  8. There is no debug log. However we have an alpha version of a logging add-on. If you would like to try it, please send me an email at chris@rocketgenius.com and I will get it for you. Maybe that will help.

  9. For whoever this helps...

I setup a brand new bare-bones WP site, installed GF and PayPal Standard add-on, set my GF PP settings to "Test", re-established my PP sandbox accounts and configured everything correctly. No matter what, my GF entries only showed "Processing" and nothing else. My server logs never showed any activity from PP IPN and PP IPN sandbox history was always empty, even though sandbox PP accounts showed payments as complete. I finally gave up and switched GF PP settings to Production and tested with someone else's real PP account. Everything worked like a charm and I owe my friend $7.00 :)

So... if you get your sandbox IPN to work, great! I for one am convinced that PP sandbox automated IPN simply does not work.

    Good luck!

    Hello,

I'm having the same problem, with the exception that I do have an IPN history. I've gone through the list cited here:

    http://om4.com.au/client/gravity-forms/paypal-add-on/

    Everything checks out.

So what is the next step? How do I fix the communication from Paypal to Gravity Forms so the status is changed from "Processing" to "Received" and the notifications of receipt of payment are sent to all interested parties.

Note: this is a "live form" and not one connected with the PP sandbox.

    Please advise.

    Cheers,

    Tim
