PayPal User Account Requried for client subscriptions?

  1. I'm working on a site and we need subscriptions. I can't seem to get the sandbox environment to allow me to pay with anything but the sandbox account. Is this a limitation of the sandbox environment or does a client need to have a paypal account to subscribe with the PayPal plugin?

  2. The Sandbox only works with Sandbox accounts. It doesn't work with real accounts. It's a test environment. You create test accounts within the Sandbox and can test with those.

I believe a PayPal account is required for subscriptions, but not for one time payments.

  3. Yeah I'm on at test sandbox account and it all works fine. I even did a test with a full account and just paid the subscription fee. PayPal docs say that you don't need a paypal account to pay for a subscription (obviously you need one to take payment). I can't get the sandbox to show me the CC fields instead of an account so I'm just wondering if that's a limitation of the sandbox environment or of the GF plugin?

  4. Nope. It's a limitation of the Sandbox environment. We have no control over it's checkout page.
