Phone Number Standard Field Not Accepting 8xx area codes...

  1. As the title implies we have run into an issue where the customer is using an 800 number, in this case 866, and the phone field keeps returning invalid upon submission.

The number was verified numerous times and upon changing it to a non-800 the form accepted it.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Can you link to your form? Are you doing any custom validation on the field? Are you just using a phone field type? And lastly, are you using the latest Gravity Forms and WordPress versions?

  3. We are not using any custom validation and using a few standard fields. Actually to be honest the field itself is extremely simple. We are using the most updated version of gravity forms, however our WP is currently waiting on some updates from our current theme provider before we update from 3.5 to 3.5.1.

I just submitted a form with an 800 number and didn't receive an issue. Can you tell me more about what kind of error you are seeing?

  5. I'm not sure, I'm not able to re-create it as well. The only difference that I can notice is the user trying to input the form was using IE8 versus me trying both Chrome 24.0.1312.57 and IE9.

I did visit the user though and verify several attempts and the only field highlighted was the phone field in red saying invalid field format (or something along those lines, had I thought to print screen I would have).

Its the first 800 number we've had inputted into the form, but as you said I can input just fine on my machine.

I guess I'll just chalk it up to lack of caffeine and gremlins.

Hopefully that's all it is. Let us know if it happens again. It shouldn't be browser related... All my best!
