Plugin Installing but not working - cannot add fields or save

  1. I have been using GF on mostly Genesis sites, but this time I used it with a template purchased at ThemeForest - The theme is REACH http://themeforest.net/item/reach-business-portfolio-wordpress-theme/1229054
I am not getting any errors, the plugin installs fine, but when I try to use the form editor it will not add any fields and when I try and save it gets hung up and will not save. Any thoughts? I have contacted the theme author about it but he doesnt have a way of testing his theme with the plugin.

  2. Have you tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling the plugin to eliminate that possibility? Sometimes WordPress flubs the install and we see issues like that.

If that's a no-go, it IS most likely the theme. ThemeForest authors are notorious for having these complex admin options, but they don't adhere to best practices and enqueue all of their scripts even on non-theme admin pages such as the Gravity Forms admin and it causes all sorts of conflicts and problems.

  3. Thanks Kevin - I have tried the re-install and it was a no-go. I have notified the author about it so maybe he will take steps to ensure his theme compatibility in the future. Contact Form 7 is a sad subsitute for Gravity Forms though :(... it pains me to use it!!
