Possible bug in Gravity Forms v1.6 Release Candidate 4

  1. Hello.
I am trying out Gravity Forms v1.6 Release Candidate 4.

Here 's a bug: I created a drop-down box and populated it with a custom taxonomy. It works, but it ads "First Choice" (or whatever we write in that field) as an option.

I posted this on the blog, ( http://www.gravityhelp.com/gravity-forms-v1-6-release-candidate-4-released/#comments ) but I got this answer"

This isn't necessarily a bug with the v1.6 Release Candidate, it's most likely related to how you are dynamically populating the drop down as custom taxonomies aren't integrated out of the box so you must have a customization implemented or are using a 3rd party add-on. I would suggest posting ont he support forum and describe your issue in detail, provide us with the custom code you have implemented using http://pastie.org and/or let us know any 3rd party Gravity Forms Add-Ons you may have installed. Keep in mind we don't provide support for 3rd party Gravity Forms Add-Ons.

However I am not using a 3rd party Gravity Forms Add-On, nor have I impemlented custom code.
I am using the Gravity Forms "User Registration Add-On" and "PayPal Add-On"
I am also using the listings wootheme, and have also activated the s2Member plugin.
Any ideas how to solve this?

    Thank you

  2. I'm not sure how you are populating a field with a custom taxonomy. Gravity Forms doesn't do custom post types or custom taxonomies out of the box. Can you provide more details as to how you are doing this?

  3. Hmm... Now I'm confused... Are you sure you are talking about v1.6 Release Candidate 4? If so, I'm probobly not expressing myself correctly.
OK, this might clarify. This is what I did:
    1) I created a custom taxonomy via the woothemes "Content Builder".
    2) I made a drop down field wile building a form in Gravity forms.
    2) In the "Properties" tab, I cheked. "Required"
    3) I clicked the "Advanced" tab and cheked "Populate with a Taxonomy"
    4) I chose the required custom taxonomy from the drop down box. (By the way, all custom taxonomeis show up in the dropdown.)
    5) I tested the form and all the custom taxonomy' s options showed up. But In addition to them, "First Choice" showed up too.

The strange thing is that this does'nt hapen when I use a checkbox or a Radio Button field.

  4. Ok, I forgot to say something important.. I am also using the "Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types" plugin found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-custom-post-types/

  5. Yea, thats what I figured. The Gravity Forms Custom Post Types Add-On is a 3rd party plugin. It wasn't created by us and isn't supported by us. You'll need to direct any questions to it's developer via the support forum that is available from it's plugin page on WordPress.org.
