Possible to hide certain taxonomies in a form

I bought a theme which uses the taxonomy of a custom posttype to display the post on the homepage or as a featured post by selecting the taxonomy 'featured' or 'home page'. Users will be able to select a taxonomy but I do not want them to see the 'featured' of 'home page' taxonomy in the form. So, is it possible to hide them from the list?
I selected a checkbox and filled it with the taxonomy. Tried to delete these entries from the list but they keep being displayed.
