Post attachments & premium add-ons

  1. You may have answered this, but I just want to be clear. In the Post Fields, can I allow users to upload any type of file from the image field. I'm specifically interested in allowing users to upload video. (yes, I'm aware of default php upload limits, but know how to change those).

The second question regards the add-ons available to developers, mentioned in the pricing chart. What's available, exactly?

    Thanks,
    Jon

  2. The Post Image field currently only supports images. You can allow users to upload any filetype using the File Upload field, however this isn't a field that is used to create Posts with.

This will most likely be expanded in a future release as we continue to add features.

The first add-on is currently approaching release and will be available sometime this week or the beginning of next week. It is a MailChimp integration add-on that will enable you to easily integrate any of your forms with the MailChimp email campaign management service.

After the MailChimp add-on is released it will be followed soon after by a Campaign Monitor add-on and a FreshBooks add-on. The initial batch of add-ons are designed to enable you to easily wire up any of your forms with direct integration with a variety of 3rd party services.

PayPal is another add-on we will be releasing, however development has not yet begun. The MailChimp, Campaign Monitor and FreshBooks add-ons are either complete or in the process of being completed.

    Hi Carl

I too have been wondering how people can upload non-image files to posts. I now see from your answer above that it's not currently possible. I don't suppose there's a workaround is there, until such time as this feature becomes part of the core?

    Many thanks
    Richard

  4. The only work around at this point would be to use the file upload field, which will attach it to the form entry, and then for the admin reviewing the submitted post to manually add it to the post by downloading it from the entry.

  6. Please, are you planning to include the feature which will allow to upload any kind of attachment to the post in the near future?

I'm interested in this feature too, specifically to allow video upload.

  8. Gravity Forms v1.4 Beta 1 allows you to select File Upload for the Custom Field field type. So you will be able to allow any type of file to be uploaded and have the full path to that file stored as a custom field with the post.
