post title with post title template, mess with permalink structure?

    Hi there,

    I've been playing with Gravity forms for almost a week now and it's awesome! I just have one question about post titles and permalinks.

    My form uses a "Post Field ---> Post Title" Field to create the title of a post.

    This field has the following settings:
    - checked "Create a Post Title Template", selected "insert Form Field" with the following value: Poetry # {embed_post:ID}
    - admin view only
    -other field options are default.

    Confirmation message is ok, Form is sent and the entry is created. I can see in my WP admin that the post title is "Poetry # {embed_post:ID}" and I can access the posts in the frontend no problem. So everything works perfect so far.

    The problem I have is that my permalinks keep showing:
    ww.mysite.com/2010/10/10/untitled-37/

    ...and I'd like "untitled" to be "Poetry # {embed_post:ID}".

    Can you guys let me know what I did wrong?
    Your help much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Guillaume

  2. I'm unable to reproduce this in WordPress 3.0.1 using Gravity Forms v1.4.3.1. The permalink is being set correctly when setup using the 2010/10/10/post-title permalink setup.

    One thing to note is the # wouldn't show up in the permalink anyway as it's not a character supported by the WordPress permalink rewriting.

    Also what are you using the embed_post:ID variable for? That ID isn't the ID of the post that is being created, it's the ID of the post that the form was embedded on.

    Hello,

    I have the exact same problem. I made a form on which I have several fields. This form is used by me to add posts to my blog.
    In this form I have a post title field which will produce the title of the post using a predefined text and other two single line text fields. So, I use create title post template which looks like this:

    "Predefined text {single line text 1:1} {single line text 2:11}"

    For example (my site is about tv shows):

    Gossip Girl Season 3 Episode {Episode number:1} {Episode name:11}

    where the episode number and episode name are submitted by me.

    The title comes out OK, like I want it to, but the permalink looks like this: http://www.mysite.com/untitled_2/

    I don't know why this happens, but if I change the Post Status from the Post Title field to Pending Review, when I go and look at the pending post created, the permalink is ok.

    By the way, my permalink structure is set to : /%postname%/

    Thanks for your support,
    Chris

  4. The post status is the piece we were missing and why we couldn't recreate the issue. We will look into this issue and see what needs to be corrected.

    I'm sure you have a lot of work preparing the new version of the plugin, but can you estimate a date for correcting this issue? Approximately... like this year or in the next release?

    Thank you,
    Chris

  6. The fix for this will be included in Gravity Forms v1.4.4 which will be released either later today or the beginning of next week.

  7. Great news, I'm having issue with all my posts being created as untitled permalinks as well. Please release as soon as possible (due to bad planning on my part.) :(
