Posting to an alternate single.php page

  1. Is there a way to have certain forms post to a different page than single.php?

I'm using the Single Post Template Plugin which gives me alternate post pages, depending on how I want the look, just the same as using page templates. The page is exactly the same setup as single.php.

For example, I have an events section and I want certain users to be able to post directly to the events.php file. Those who are able to do this will have a specific form just for them.

  2. Forms post to the same page they are embedded on. They don't post to a specific page such as single.php, they post to whatever page they are displayed on.

  3. BAWTA, are you talking about letting visitors to your site create posts using a Gravity Form you created, to be shown in your events section, and you then want the post that is created to use a custom post template, rather than the default post template, once their event is published? This is interesting to me, if so...

  4. That's it yes. It means we can have various sections, and because of the other plugin, each section can have its own look, and be set up to use custom fields in the best way.

So, for example, the events page can be set up with time, date, price, etc with a Google map included.
