pre-populate form fields with sample data/text which is hidden on click/usage

  1. Hey there,

having done a search regarding the "pre-populate"-feature, I now feel like asking a stupid question with all those technical details going around :)

I have already pre-populated a sample field with a basic text-snippet but I want the text to vanish when the field is selected/clicked upon. This seems like common practice with regards to usability/conversion rates. There sure is a way to do this, right? Even if not already a "feature" of Gravity Forms this could be handled with an simple tweak maybe?

Thanks for helping out, hope I could make myself clear here.
    Regards,

    Henning

This is too coincidental to pass up.

Rob, I came to the support forum five minutes before your post, looking for exactly what you just posted the solution for. I couldn't find anything in a forum search so I decided to look at recent posts to see if anything matched. There I found the most recent post in the list was "pre-populate form fields with sample data/text which is hidden on click/usage", exactly what I was looking for.

I don't know how you knew I would be arriving shortly looking for just that (ha), but thank you for the very timely post.
