putting field labels on the field itself

    Hi. My client wants his field names to be posted on the field itself, not above each one.

    is that doable?

    That functionality is commonly referred to as placeholder text. It's not built in to Gravity Forms but there is a 3rd party plugin available which will provide this for you. Please see here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-placeholders/
