Quantity Field and Decimal Follow On Question

  1. I wasn't fast enough on the reply before http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/modify-qty-portion-of-product-field-to-accept-decimals#post-56299 got closed but the answers did help although I did find something that was odd. I am using Chrome and I turned off HTML5 output and when I use a combination of the Product Field w/ the quantity property disabled, and the Quantity Field tied to that product, I can now enter decimals. However if use the Product Field w/ the quantity property ENABLED you can not use a decimal. Does that seem right?

Also, Rob, since you asked, we use the form as an internal invoice for our commissary kitchen. They ship out lbs of things like tuna salad and the like and not always in nice round lb increments.

  2. Matt, I was able to use this correctly in both instances you mentioned above in GF 1.6.3.3.4 and the Beta. Maybe something going on with your form. Can you export the form and send the XML file to me to rob@rocketgenius.com so I can take a look?

  3. This is happening due to the fact the standalone Quantity field is configured as a Number Field, which does support decimals.

But we certainly don't want this happening when it is used as a Quantity field as that isn't typically how Quantities are input. They are typically whole numbers.

I am reporting this issue as a bug and we will get it fixed in the Gravity Forms v1.6.4 final release which will be available via automatic update on Monday.
