  1. i there a way to set up a form so that answering a few questions then gives a price at the end of the form? or is best to use the form and then use the data from the form to pass to a page to calculate the price?

  2. Currently there isn't a way to do this. This is functionality we plan on adding in the future either as a core feature or as part of an add-on. You could do this by passing data to a second page to calculate the price and then present them with the price.

  3. thanks Carl how do i get the data from the submitted form?

  4. You can setup a custom confirmation page that passes the data via the querystring. Your custom confirmation page can then read the querystring to get the information.

You would use a custom confirmation page and then use the query string builder to build the dynamic query string. This would be in the form settings under the confirmation tab.

Just wanted to say that I'd gladly pay for add-on that allowed for price tabulation.

This feature would be immensely useful for price estimating -- or "product" ordering -- and would really transform GravityForms to a new level of funtionality.

For me, this add-on would be worth at least the cost of the core product.

I hope this functionality is deployed soon!

  8. Price and number calculation are most definitely features we plan on bringing to Gravity Forms. We aren't 100% sure if it will be made part of the core or come bundled with a payment related add-on... but either way we do plan on adding this.

  9. Ditto on this, was checking out wp-calc, I like the end result but it's pretty confusing for me on the back end. I'd rather have one form manager rather than two, a calculating function like this would be awesome.

  10. In general it would be useful to be able to make instant calculations on the same page such as in the form I'm doing now: the user can order a certain amount of tickets to an event, and it would be great to be able to display next to it the price for the amount of tickets in real time.

    Like this:

Amount of tickets (à 12 euro)
    ____x
    (total price x*12 euro)

Or have the the default value of one field calculated based on the contents of another field. :)

    Carl,

At the risk of appearing over eager -- is this functionality being envision (either as part of the core --or an add-on) for version 1.4?

    Thanks

  12. Can't say if it will make 1.4 or not. We have a bunch of major features we plan on implementing over the next couple larger feature releases. Calculating fields is one of them, but there are others so it depends on how development goes and where we cut off the 1.4 feature list.

The timing of the calculating fields will most likely coincide with the release of a PayPal add-on, so that may or may not be with the 1.4 release... I hate to be vague but I can't really give you a definitive answer on a release.

    +1 vote for calculations.

Just started using GF and it's great. This would make it even better.
