Putting fields next to each other across a form

  1. Carl

Not sure if the post was closed to a response as a newbie.

    To recap

This is a formatting question and I have just purchased Gravity forms.

The input format can be seen here http://www.utilitymatters.com/instant-business-electricity-prices

Firstly how can it be done

The documentation you pointed to showed 2 and 3 columns yet the page I included showed that part of the supply number has 4 components, the lower part of the supply number.

    Can I replicate this?

  2. The supplied CSS Ready Classes only support up to 3 columns.

You can certainly do 4 columns, but we don't provide ready made CSS Classes to do this. You would have to implement this yourself as a customization by duplicating the CSS classes we provide and customizing to repurpose them to support 4 columns.

So it's possible to do, but it isn't something it does out of the box and can only be done as a CSS customization either by you or by hiring a developer to handle this customization for you.

  3. You can alternately try using the "gf_inline" Ready Class on your fields. This doesn't space the fields equally into "columns" but puts them inline horizontally similar to how text flows.

  4. I had to dig around to find this, but knew it was out there somewhere. You might check out this previous thread. I threw together some starter CSS for a 4 column layout a while back. You should be able to use that as a base if you need.

  5. Hi Guys

    Many thanks.

Beyond me technically so I will get a programmer to do it. I will have a number of things to get working once the site it ready, so it gets added to the list.

One thing, once I have a form, is it easily copied to use on another site? I understand that I will need to upgrade my licence before doing that.

  6. Yes, you can easily export your form in XML format from one site, then import it into another site to use there.
