Read only support forum

  1. First ,great plugin and support through the forum, 99% of all my questions have already been asked and expertly answered.

Which leads me on to my second point. I am about to launch a multi-site website where gravity forms is essential to me and my customers. Although the documentation is open for my customers is there any way that my users can have read access only to the forum. It would save me so much time, getting a question, searching the forum and then 99% of the time finding the answer and then replying.

    Thanks

  2. Mark,

Thanks for the kind words, we're always glad to help!

Unfortunately, the forum isn't setup to handle this as the license is tied to a single individual/email. Which means you'd need to give them your login info, or have them purchase their own licenses to get access to the forum without going through you.

  3. Hi

Yes I understand that that the forum is tied to my licence and my email. I dont really want to give them my login details, and I thought that you would not want me to give it out either

just read only for my customers, im sure it be a fairly simple thing to implement. My customer can get direct support with no extra effort on your part, and minimizing mine.

If they cant find the answer then they can come to me, and then me to you.

  4. Documentation is publicly accessible. However, support is only accessible by Gravity Forms customers and only the license owner is considered our customer. Your clients are not eligible for support because your clients are not our customers.

It is for this exact reason that we recommend clients of developers purchase their own key so that they can access support and can take their license with them and continue using Gravity Forms should they ever change who is hosting or managing their site.

We also recommend developers have clients purchase their own license because we've had situations where the developer did not renew their license key and allowed it to expire... leaving all of their clients out of luck when it comes to software updates crucial that are very important from a WordPress security standpoint.

  6. The same licensing and rules/access applies to the license they purchase. If they want access to priority support, then they will need a developers license. If forum support is sufficient then they won't require a developers license.
