    hi,

    I can't find the answer and I probably know it isn't possible.
    But is it possible to add a avatar / profile picture when registering?

    No. It isn't a feature because WordPress uses Gravatar.com for it's built in avatars. The user has to register and create the avatar for their email address at Gravatar's web site.
