Routed Email not received if field left empty

  1. Can someone confirm if this is a bug or feature or workaround:

I have a form where the email is routed based on options checked. I also have a BCC to myself. This field is NOT required.

If an option is not checked in that routing field and the form submitted, I don't even receive the BCC.

I will make this a required field, however, I'm wondering if there can be some clarification on this. I try to make as few fields as possible required to avoid frustration (you can lead a horse to water and all that).

    Cheers.

  2. If you have Routing turned on then a Routing rule has to be triggered in order for the email to be sent. So if no rules match, no email is going to be sent. The BCC only occurs when an email is sent.

So you would have to make the field required in order to be sure that at least one of your configured routing rules are going to be triggered... you'd also have to make sure a routing rule exists to take into account all of the possible selections.
