Setting up digital downloads

  1. Hi, I know there are a few posts about this but most of them are old so I am wondering what the current state of setting up digital downloads with the plugin. I am trying to setup an option to buy, and download eBooks (using PayPal payment). I really love how the form looks, so I am hoping there may be some updates on how to implement this from the older posts I have read. Thanks a lot.

  2. There is nothing specifically built in to Gravity Forms to facilitate digital downloads. How far have you gotten with your form and your process?

Some people have had success with the Plugin Buddy S3 URLs plugin to offer time-limited downloads: http://ithemes.com/free-wordpress-plugins/s3/

  4. On the Confirmation tab for the form settings, you can choose one of Text, Page or Redirect. Any one of those choices will happen after the visitor returns from PayPal after completing their transaction. That is where you would put the link to your download.

You can also put the link to the file to be downloaded in the email confirmation and set it up so that the notification email does not go out to the user until the payment is complete.

  5. Chris, you alluded to putting a link to the file to be downloaded in the email confirmation. How do you insert a url in the email confirmation tab?

    Thank you,
    Mike

  6. If you are using the Plugin Buddy S3 URLs plugin, they provide shortcodes, and you can insert the shortcode into your text confirmation or email confirmation.

What sort of URL are you inserting (where does it come from), and where (user notification)? You can insert any HTML or shortcode you like in the confirmation text on screen or in the email notification to the user.
