After the most recent Gravity Forms update, one of my sites started loading really slowly. The dashboard pages also loaded slowly. In both case, the speed was so slow that sometimes 404 errors resulted. I disabled all plug-ins and the speed increased dramatically. I began reactivating the plug-ins one at a time. After activating Gravity Forms, the speed was still great. As soon as I activated an add-on, the site practically froze (it didn't, but again, it was so slow that 404 errors often resulted). I use 2 add-ons: Registration and Aweber. Activating either (and both) of these makes the site slow. I tried both separately. I currently have both add-ons deactivated while searching for alternatives.
