Slowness when creating forms

  1. Are there any known issues with slowness when creating forms?

II'm using Wordpress MU and when I build my forms, I have to wait at least 10 seconds for the javascript on each one of my fields to open so that I can edit the settings.

I save periodically, however, after working on editing the form for more then 5 mins, then click on save, it gets stuck-- the save button just stays up, but the save never happens....

I am having the same problem. When I hover over the field... it is not giving me the open to edit it. I am not using Wordpress MU though.

I fixed it. I deactivated the "Advanced Fancybox" plugin and it works now. Strange.

  4. Glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue, but unfortunately the fix isn't so simple for me....Gravity Forms is the only plug in that I have active.

    Any help?

  5. It's most likely a javascript conflict of some sort with either a plugin, or if no other plugins then possibly the theme itself. If you'd like to share your URL, we can take a look at the site and go from there.

  6. Hi Kevin,

    No other plugins are installed.

The url for the form is http://www.edit-ability.com/getstarted/

This happens when editing the form from my admin panel, not the site itself, however.

When opening up the options/ settings tabs, it stalls for 10 seconds or so before opening and allowing me to edit.

The save button is also super slow....

  7. Okay, thanks for the URL. We'll take a look at it.

  8. Tiffany,

I can't see anything offhand that might cause an issue from looking at your theme. Can you send us a login to your WordPress admin so we can test it out? You can use the contact form to send it to us.

I am having the same problem using wp 2.9.1 and Thesis 1.6 on a new install. It takes ages to add a field, very frustrating. But I believe this has onlyu started with the latest versions. Previous versions worked fine. Anything I can do myself?

  11. So far everything we've found has either been caused by another plugin or simply slowdowns related to the hosting provider (entire admin panel lags), nothing directly related to Gravity Forms.

If you'd like to send an admin login to your site via the contact form, we'll be happy to take a look and see what we can find.
