Spanish Translation

  1. Hi, i understand GForms need a good Spanish translation file. i am currently translating GForms and i have no problem sharing my translation file when i am done, meanwhile i just found a big problem that GForms support have to fix on this subject.
I just updated GForms and the process erased the .MO and .PO files i had translated, it was a good thing that i copied the files before the update since i have already translated more than 50% of the text strings. Please check that the update Process doesn't replace language files, as a suggestion, the language files should be offered as an additional download as Add-Ons, and the update process should not ever update the language files, this way the user has control of when to update them.

i expect to send the Spanish translation file to GForms support in about 10 days after i finish the translation and then test it for errors. If anyone need it sooner (Without corrections) leave your email address here.

  2. Very cool, we'd love to make it available to users so let us know when it is ready.

We are planning on abstracting the translation files from the main plugin and making them available as a separate add-on. It is a project we have planned to make translations easier to manager by creating a language add-on where they can select the translation, etc. It will also make updating the translations easier. At that point we will provide official translations and officially support them, etc.

  3. I could use a Spanish translation of gravity forms; is it available yet?

Even a beta copy would be fine.

    Thank you.

  4. Hi Nabha,

The translation plugin Carl mentioned above is not yet available. It might be a good idea to email Signo directly about that status of his translation. You can find member emails by clicking on the 'Member' link below their name.

  7. Here is a tutorial on how to translate a WordPress plugin:

    http://weblogtoolscollection.com/archives/2007/08/27/localizing-a-wordpress-plugin-using-poedit/

The Gravity Forms master POT file is located in the languages folder of the Gravity Forms plugin.

I've never used it but some users also use this plugin to translate other plugins:
