Strange email address created for notification emails

    Hi

I am trying to set up the notification email address to send to my AWeber list direct email.
I have set the AWeber parser up correctly - this has been triple checked!

    In GF, I have set:
    1) The email address as my AWeber list email address
    2) The 'From Name' to [dropdown] Name>>
    3) The 'From Email' to [dropdown] Email>>
    4) The 'Reply To' has been left blank (but I have also tried it with the dropdown set to Email>>)
    5) The BCC has my email address in it
    6) The message section with the default "{all_fields}"

When I run a test, the submission shows up in the GF Entries section, I get sent an email to my address, but the email doesn't show up in AWeber.

What I then noticed is that the From email address is showing up as "comment@mysite.com", NOT the email address I enter on the form which I'm capturing.

I tried various email addresses from my bank of test ones, and each time the From address is this "comment@" address.

I checked in AWeber and, sure enough "comment@mysite.com" shows up.

What I'm not sure about is HOW this email address came into existance in the first place.

I have never set up an email address of "comment@mysite.com" - at all - ever - let alone entered it into Wordpress of GF.

    I have "jez@", "info@", "healthcheck@" and a few others, but never "comment@"

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I have checked on the server side, and indeed this email address doesn't exist.

Where does the from address for the notification email come from - I would have thought it would either be something I enter in the email address box in GF or the email address of the user if I select the Email>> dropdown.

Anyway, the problem is that if I clear the comment@ address from AWeber, the first time I use the form it goes through to AWeber correctly (although I can't confirm the subscription) but, as every subsequent form entry sends an email from comment@, none of the other email addresses are getting through - AWeber just thinks they are all coming from the same email address, so it doesn't trigger the parser after the first one.

    This is driving me NUTS!!

    Help, please!!!!!

  2. Gravity Forms doesn't set the email address that is used as the From Address. So it's going to be something else on your site that is setting it, or your web server itself is setting the From address. Gravity Forms uses whatever you enter in the Notification setup as the From address. If it's being changed, then it's possible it's being changed by your web server.

If you send us a WordPress admin login for this site via our Contact Us form we can take a look and see if we can determine why the issue is happening. We will also need an FTP login because we are going to need to debug code directly to determine if your server is overriding the setting for the From address.
