Sub-Categories All Show Up As "Uncategorized"

  1. I'm using Gravity Forms as a Q And A feature. Here is my issue.

I have a main category: Ask The Vet
Sub Category: Cats, Dogs, Reptiles, Etc
    Sub-Sub Categories: Turtles, Frogs, etc.

I only chose main categories to display as choices. such as "Cats, Dogs, Turtles, etc."

However when I choose a category from the drop down box and hit submit the questions all come up as "uncategorized"

I know I could go in and change to the right topic. HOWEVER, I have permalinks setup to go to site.com/ask-the-vet/category or ask-the-vet/sub-category or ask-the-vet/sub-sub-category. So if they come up uncategorized they just go to site.com/uncategorized and I don't get the proper permalink.

What do I need to do so the users selected category shows up in the "Pending Post"

I'm using WP 3.0 Release Candidate.

  2. Are you using conditional logic? If so, read this:
    http://forum.gravityhelp.com/topic/if-this-category-is-selected-do-this#post-5533

At the end of that topic, Carl mentioned that you can get an update if you email him, if you are affected by this problem.

  3. Yes, there is a bug in the current public release of Gravity Forms. Email me at carl-at-rocketgenius.com and I can send you a patch for the issue. We haven't released it via automatic upgrade yet because we try to not release single-fix patches via automatic upgrade unless they are critical issues.

  4. Can you post this patch so we can use it without waiting for an email?

    Thanks,
    - Tim

  5. It is already available for download, it was mentioned in another Post Category related thread. It's on the Downloads page and is listed as the current development build. It is version 1.3.12.2.

  6. I have encountered the same issue, although it has always worked, until recently. I haven't touched the form editor since I created the form initially, and yes it does use conditional logic.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that I am running GF Version 1.3.13, which is not the current development build. I don't remember exactly when/where I installed/updated it but I am guessing I seen a link via Twitter from Carl or Kevin.

I'll keep testing but any advice would be helpful.

Site Link to where form should show: http://thirststation.com/contact/

    Thanks,
    Luke

  7. @luke are you running the current release version of 1.3.13 that was released earlier this week or are you running an older development/beta version of it? You may want to download the latest release build of 1.3.13 from the Downloads page and install it and then check to see if the issue is still happening.
