Submit to iContact only after PayPal payment verified

Forgive me if this has been adequately covered elsewhere, but after searching the forum I could not find instructions for my specific scenario, and could use some help.

I understand that the form ENTRY will be created (and why it needs to be) even if a PayPal payment has not been made/verified, but I want to integrate the form submission with iContact, and have the form data *not* go to the iContact list unless the payment has been made.

I found an iContact Add-on in the WordPress.org Plugins repository, but not sure how to integrate the two, since it does not appear that this iContact Add-on checks for payment verification.

This is for a non-profit site that uses the form to sign up [donation-paying] "members" to a list at iContact, not for registering site users or creating posts.......they only want members added to the list if they've made the donation.

I would be very grateful if someone could suggest a solution.......I'm not a trained coder but am reasonably proficient at minor mods to code or to adding code to my functions.php etc. Any help would be appreciated!

  2. As far as I know, there is no integration between that 3rd party iContact add-on and our PayPal add-on. You might want to separate the two steps: pay first with PayPal, then show that visitor another form which will allow them to subscribe to your members list at iContact.

You could show the form to subscribe to iContact only upon completion of the transaction at PayPal. You could also pre-populate the data so that the visitor really just needs to click the button to submit the form: their data would already be there.

Thanks Chris - that was going to be my "plan B", I was just hoping for a way to make it a smoother experience for the site visitor........

iContact seems to be the list manager of choice for several non-profits I volunteer my services for - any chance you guys might create an official iContact add-on that will be more sophisticated than that 3rd party one? It seems like this would fill a need out there to have payment verification processed before names are added to a mailing list, based on the number of similar queries in this forum that I found. :-)

We'll keep this as a feature request. Thanks for the suggestion.
