Submitted value vs displayed test for fields

  1. I may be missing something, but is it possible to have the displayed text different from the submitted value of a field?

For instance, if I have a radio button where the user can select "Dogs," "Cats," or "Horses" but I want the submitted value to be "canine," "feline," or "equus".
Is this possible and I'm overlooking it? Otherwise, is this functionality that can be added to Gravity Forms?

  2. Hi Michael, there was previous discussion of this here:
    http://forum.gravityhelp.com/topic/drop-down-value-different-than-content-text

I don't believe it's built in to the back end, but it can be accomplished. Alex mentioned in that thread that they're planning on incorporating that functionality.

It was mentioned by Carl prior to that too:

  3. The current version of Gravity Forms does not support separate value/labels for radio buttons, checkboxes and drop downs. This is a feature we will be adding. As was pointed out, it is possible to implement using available API hooks to do it with some custom PHP.

It is a feature we will be adding when we implement field calculations and PayPal support.

  4. Thanks for the responses illinoisharley and Carl. I figured as much, but just wanted to make sure before I write the plugin.
