Terms & Conditions error

There's a bug with only single required checkbox (usually some kind of "terms" acceptance). This happened on my website and even on your own demo at http://www.gravityforms.com/demo/inline-html.

When a user clicks the checkbox (in order to accept the terms) the "required" error message still appears.

    Any solutions or bug fixes?

  2. Haven't seen that behavior before. We'll take a look at it and let you know.

It's funny but it works correctly by using a radio input instead of a checkbox.

However, this is a serious bug and should be fixed rather quickly with a future release.

I posted this issue a long time ago and the only reply within the last 11 hours was "We'll take a look at it and let you know". Hey guys: I have paid for support. Don't you think that you should provide support?

  4. I'm investigating the reported issue, but can't recreate it in every form. Several of my forms do work with with a single instance of the checkbox so there is something else involved.

As far as being a serious bug, I don't agree. If you really need the functionality, then just use a radio input for now. As soon as we can diagnose the issue and get it corrected, be assured that we will incorporate it in the next release.

I'm sure you're in a hurry, but it's only been 14 hours since your original post - most of which were the middle of the night in our time zone. I doubt many support sites would have even replied by now. The standard is to get a response within 24-48 hours. We are well known for providing exceptional support and to be frank, I don't appreciate the attitude. You're getting what you paid for, you just have to be reasonable about the time it takes for things to get done. "Foot stomping" isn't getting it done any faster.

As said in my first response, we're looking into the issue and will let you know when a fix/update is in place.

Quote: "Several of my forms do work with with a single instance of the checkbox...".

As I mentioned before, it doesn't even work on your own demo at http://www.gravityforms.com/demo/inline-html. Funny thing :)

  6. Yeah, I got it. I didn't say there wasn't an issue. I just said I haven't confirmed a cause.

  7. Same problem on my form. But Kevin, you are right, it's not right to be so pushy, especially if it's a matter of hours he was waiting. Any progress because of a bugfix?

    Thanks!

  8. @Alex76 We have been unable to replicate this issue locally, even on our own form that the user above said was happening. Kevin thought he had replicated it, but he had not. Can you provide a link to a form that is having this issue so we can take a look? We will probably also need access to this site in order to debug the issue.

Also let us know exactly what operating system, browser and browser version you are using just in case it is some sort of browser specific issue.

  9. Hi Carl, I think I know what's the problem, if you have only one checkbox or radio button and don't write anything next to the checkbox or radio button and just in the label field, then you won't able to continue and it gives you an error, even though you clicked the checkbox or radio button. As soon as you add a name or text right next to the checkbox or radio button in your edit form backend, the form will work then. I don't know if you call it a bug though or if it's normal that it won't work without some words next to the checkbox or radio button.

    Hope that helps.

    Alex

  10. @Alex76 This is because the Field Label is not the Checkbox value. So if your checkbox is required, and you did not place a value in the option name for the Checkbox OR the value of the checkbox then the checkbox has no value and it won't validate.

Hello, I just posted a new topic about this -- I hadn't seen this topic when I posted (i'll delete my topic). I think this is an IE specific issue, hence the trouble recreating it. I have a form here:

    Test Link

This form requires the terms and conditions checkbox. It works great in all browsers except IE (tested in 7, 8, 9). When the checkbox is NOT required, the form validates just fine, but when the checkbox is required, it will not submit in IE.

I'm going to use a radio for the live version of this site, but in terms of UI, it would be nice to use checkboxes if you can figure out what the bug is for next release.

// UPDATE: I've also tried checking the "enable values" option in the gravity form editor, but this does not make a difference. Form will still not submit in IE.

I've noticed in the html, that the name and for are using different methods. One an underscore, the other a .

So gravity forms is outputting this:

    <input name="input_14.1" type="checkbox" value="Lorem Ipsum" id="choice_14_1" tabindex="10">
    <label for="choice_14_1">Lorem Ipsum</label>
