Two-step form, SMTP, and compatibly w/ Facebook plugins

    Hi Guys,

Well, I tried the cheaper route (<shame>) and it is not working. So let me ask how Gravity forms handles these issues:

    1. I need to pre-feed a Gravity form with a Call-to-Action single field form on my home page. I assume from what I read that a Gravity form can handle this by providing the field name from the initial form to be read via GET/PUT by the Gravity form. Is this correct?

    2. I need to send email out via SMTP using different accounts, not through the WordPress admin's email. Is this possible? If so, is it a native capability or does it require a 3rd party plugin?

    3. Brand X form system sends duplicate emails then their plugin is used with a login redirect plugin or a Facebook Connect plugin. Does Gravity Forms have the same problem?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

  2. Hey David. I'll do my best to answer your questions from my own experience with GravityForms.

    1. You can set a specific GravityForm field to be dynamically populated when loading. This will require adding a custom GravityForm filter hook to your theme functions.php file.

    2. You can enable / disable notification settings for emails sent to admins and / or users as well as customize the From | To | Copy Addresses, Subject, and Body Template. However, GravityForms relies on your web server / WordPress configurations for sending email and requires third party plugins to setup SMTP settings.

    3. I can't say I've seen the duplicate emails issue with any plugins. Perhaps I'm not clearly understanding the problem or I've not encountered the same conditions you are referring to.

    Hi David,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question... I wish the company cared enough about new business to do the same.

I purchased the GF and it's working as expected.

    Thanks again!
