Unable to edit site since install

  1. Hi, I just purchased gravity and tried uploading .zip file through 'add new plugins'. I am running Genesis child themes. The following problems happened immediately after install:-

WordFence Security Plugin Notification: Wordfence could not get an API key from the Wordfence scanning servers when it activated. You can try to fix this by going to the Wordfence "options" page and hitting "Save Changes". This will cause Wordfence to retry fetching an API key for you. If you keep seeing this error it usually means your WordPress server can't connect to our scanning servers. You can try asking your WordPress host to allow your WordPress server to connect to noc1.wordfence.com. (tried 'Save changes' and it didn't work)

BackUp Wordpress plugin Notification: BackUpWordPress has setup your default schedules. By default BackUpWordPress performs a daily backup of your database and a weekly backup of your database & files. You can modify these schedules.

These Plugins have been running seamlessly for months, but now they are acting like they've been reset. I can't Deactivate or delete these plugins or Gravity now. Any idea what might be going on. This is my first uploaded plug-in, I've always just downloaded plugins from the wordpress database.

dashboard is now running extremely slow

  2. I do know how to access Ftp files wp-content; Gravity Forms. is it safe to delete the files from here?

  3. OK, I so I decided to delete Wordfence via FTP, which did nothing,

Then I deleted Gravity Forms via Ftp. This fixed the issue. Now I'm back where I was with no Gravity Plug-in.

The symptom were extremely slow dashboard and no control over plug-ins including unable to delete or deactivate any plug ins.

after reading through other posts I'm thinking it's probably PHP memory issue or a conflict with plug-ins. I am running a 'FBF - Facebook Page Feed Widget' plugin.

Any ideas? I will call web host tomorrow to increase memory, before I attempt to reinstall. Bugger, was excited about this!

    Thanks in advance.
    Mike

  4. I'm still having this issue, Can I get a refund or some support with this problem please.
I have confirmed with web host that my website has been moved to a different server with increased PHP memory. (from 32 to 64mb)

To give you an idea I have two virtually identical sites.
    http://www.termiteguys.com.au
Which now has gravity forms installed.
(load time when clicking Plugins> installed plugins = 22 Seconds)

    and
    http://www.termiteguysbrisbane.com.au
    which doesn't have gravity installed.
(load time when clicking Plugins> installed plugins = 1.5 Seconds)
Something is not right. any ideas what could be causing this issue?

Whilst Gravity is installed I can not edit, deactivate or remove any plugins including Gravity.

It still sounds like you could be running out of PHP Memory, try following the advice in this article http://www.nerdgrind.com/increase-wordpress-and-php-memory-limit/ to increase your available PHP memory up to 128MB for example.

    Regards,
    Richard

Also, please make sure you are increasing the available memory for WordPress and PHP, not just increasing server memory. These are very different things and need to be done properly if WordPress is to take advantage of the increase.
