unread count not resetting

    using both 1.3.12 and 1.4beta I have noticed a small issue.

    I went in today and cleared out all the spam forms from the bots, around 108 messages. Even though I deleted them all, when I am on the dashboard, it still says 108 unread messages. It says the same thing in the gravity admin. Not sure how to fix this one.

    I had this problem and it was caused by a caching plugin I had installed. Here is Carl's explanation:

    After turning off caching, I went in and marked the entries as read in the database and the dashboard widget was fine after that. I never turned caching back on.
