User generated content to a PAGE and not a post?

  1. I want to create a private (password protected), on-going conversation between site instructor and paying student.

I would like it to be on a password-protected page. However, it seems like I will have to continually take the comments submitted by form and then add them to the page through the edit interface. Is there no way to do this automatically?

  2. So, would it work better if both student and instructor could use one form, which would create posts, and all those individual posts would go to one Page? Or are you looking for something like threaded comments on a Post?

You title indicated you wanted the submissions to go to a Page not a Post. This is possible but does not seem to solve your problem. You would just have individual PAGES instead of individual POSTS.

See here for the code to create Pages rather than Posts after submission.

  3. Chris,

So GF can't be used to ADD content to a page, only to create an entirely new one?

  4. Correct. It's designed to create new posts, not edit or add to existing posts. However, using the hooks available, anything is possible.

It also sounds like editing of existing posts is on the roadmap for 1.7 (not the next major release: one after that)
