Website Field and special characters

I am having trouble with the Website Field for people who are submitting URLs with special characters, specifically the pound sign (#) and the colon (:). I get the following message: Please enter a valid Website URL (i.e. http://www.gravityforms.com).

How can I allow some special characters?

  2. Currently the web site field is designed for simple addresses and validated for correct syntax on domain names. If you want them to use special characters the only way around that would be to use a Single Text Input instead of the Website field. We plan on enhancing the validation in the future to allow for # symbols.

Thanks. No problem. The single line field works just as well.
