Where are the add ons?

  1. Just curious of the status of all these great addons that have been spoken of in the past.

Also, on yoast.com he has a check box to subscribe to his newsletter as part of his contact form, any thoughts on offering that up? :-)

    thanks again.

  2. The first official add-on is currently in beta. It is a data integration add-on that will make it quick and easy to integrate any of your forms with services such as MailChimp and Campaign Monitor to pass data to these services on the fly when a form is submitted.

The Integration add-on will be released with support for 3 or 4 3rd party services. The only two we can announce right now are Campaign Monitor and MailChimp. The others are still in the works.

We have plans for a bunch of add-ons to enhance the functionality of Gravity Forms, this is the first one we will be releasing. Is is scheduled to be released the first part of January.

If you would like to beta test the Integration add-on, let me know and I can set you up with the latest beta builds.

Note: Add-Ons beta testing is only available to developer license holders, which this poster is.

  8. Hey Carl,

cheers, just installed it and it looks great! The Integration menu point didn't show up initially. Turned out that I had to enable the integration role for admin users.

I'll test it some more and then get bak to you!

  9. Would love to test the mailchimp integration also....I just purchased a developer license for a client solely for this mailchimp integration.

    Thanks very much

  12. Thanks for sending the files Carl, I appreciate it. I Sent this to you on email a while back but didn't hear back so I figured I would post here as others may wonder as well... I am using 1.3.8, to install this beta can I just overwrite my current install or does it require any additional steps like a database update etc etc..

Once I get this setup with mailchimp and get amember working with it I will be able to have all my names in one nice tidy list :-)

  13. Hey Jesse, I responded to that email... not sure why you didn't receive it.

Just copy over the new 1.4 beta install and overwrite the existing 1.3.8 plugin files via FTP.

  14. @Pippin I have emailed you the beta version of the add-on and the development version of Gravity Forms that is required to run it.

Does the 1.4 beta version also contain the form export capability? If so, could I test it too please?

    Cheers

  16. The 1.4 beta version that testers are using is strictly for the Integration Add-On compatibility. It does not contain any new features and is otherwise identical to 1.3.8 only with the necessary hooks for the integration add-on to work with it.

  17. hmm, uploaded and activated both plugins (using WP 2.9.1) go to tick the check box to enable mail chimp but theres no save settings button showing... I have many plugins installed so I suppose it could be that one is not playing nicely, but all other gravity forms settings pages etc work just fine... any ideas?

  19. I thought you were adding the ability to copy (back up) a form, so it can easily be used on another website? I thought you said it would be in 1.4 ... no?

Posted 14 years ago on Friday January 8, 2010 | Permalink
  20. @Fred Yes, we do plan on adding that in the 1.4 release, however the development version of 1.4 that the add-on testers does not have new features because they aren't beta testing 1.4 they are beta testing the add-on. The add-on requires new hooks that aren't in the current release version of Gravity Forms, which is why they are using a development version.

The add-on is going to ship before Gravity Forms 1.4, which means the new hooks will probably be released in a v1.3.9 release. They aren't really testing Gravity Forms v1.4, thats just what we called the development build they are using.

  21. Carl,

Any chance you could send me the 1.4 beta with Mail Chimp integration too? I just finished my developer purchase.

  23. Carl, i'd like to test the 1.4 beta version, too... i'll be able to test both Campaign Monitor and MailChimp... looking forward to seeing how the integration works... thanks.

Put me down for the 1.4 list if you are incorporating the user registration module

Posted 14 years ago on Thursday January 28, 2010 | Permalink
  25. The 1.4 beta people are receiving to test the add-on does not have any feature enhancements. It strictly adds support for the add-on itself.

We are currently revising the Campaign Monitor, MailChimp and FreshBooks add-ons and readying them for release. They will be released as 3 separate add-ons.

The 1.3.9 release of Gravity Forms will add support for them, and then the add-ons will be released with 1.3.9 or shortly after.

  27. Hey Carl.. I would suggest you can invite/add all people with developer license for beta tests by default. Will save lots of time for you as well..

I'm not very regular to forums and I guess its the only place to know "whats on".. I just try to land here once in a week..

    Regards
    Nitin

  28. Great suggestion Nitin. In the future we will setup a beta testing area where Developers can access the latest beta builds of whatever we are currently beta testing. We will also send out an email to the Developer License holders to make them aware of the availability of beta software.

  29. Just to give everyone a heads up, the MailChimp add-on will be released with v1.3.9 of Gravity Forms which will be coming out very soon.

Soon after the MailChimp add-on we will then also be releasing add-ons for Campaign Monitor and FreshBooks.

  30. Hi!

Can you give me an idea of how soon 'very soon' is?

I'm working on a project for a client right now that could definitely do with the MailChimp add-on.

    Let me know!

    Hi!

    When's the aweber integration due?

    Thanks x

Posted 14 years ago on Monday February 8, 2010 | Permalink
  32. Soon is this week.

AWeber integration is something we want to do but it is trickier than the others because they don't provide a solid API to work with. We hope to integrate it in the future but need to come up with a solution... they aren't as easy to integrate as the others.
