Why GF duplicate uploaded images?

  1. I setup a form where users can create posts, and upload a featured image, but GF is duplicating files in the system saving one copy the GF folder and another in the WordPress upload folder.

    Just like this...

    site.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/filename.jpg
    site.com/wp-content/uploads/gravity_forms/2012/08/filename.jpg

Why 2 files? How can I stop that? Thanks!

  2. From the lead developer:

We decided to keep them separate so that one doesn't affect the other. For example, if the file was placed in the media library only, and then the post were deleted, the entry would be missing the image. To change that behavior, your could use the gform_after_submission to delete the file and change the entry to point to the file in the media library folder.

  3. Am seeking to add a form similar to allow adding photos and comments to a Memorial site. Can you share how you created that form or direct to documentation to accomplish that? Thanks.

  4. @MarkB, as your issue is unrelated to the one which Ray brought up, please begin a new topic for your issue and we will address it there. Thank you.
