I am looking to change the Character count to a Word count instead. Also if possible change the text box to a paid option. Basically I need to create a form for a Local Newspaper to accept Print Classifieds where they charge based on words and not characters.
I am willing to pay for this if that helps any :)
You can implement a simple word count using this code:

That would show the number of words entered into the textarea. The rest will require customization. Rocketgenius/Gravity Forms does not do customizations, but here is a list of developers who are familiar with Gravity Forms customizations:
