Wrong amount sent to PayPal

  1. Hi there.

I have Gravity + PayPal addon set up on a site in order to manage workshop registration. User can select to attend one or more days...

In order to achieve this, I have set up a hidden product field at $0.10 and then added a required option field with checkbox select, so the user can select one day at (x) amount or 2 days at (x + x) amount.

The total shows up perfectly at the bottom of the form. When submit is clicked, however, the total amount is not passed to paypal.... just the product amount is. For some reason, the option amounts are dropped and not sent to PayPal..

So if a user selects Day 1 ($34.50), total shows $34.60 - submit is clicked and a payment of $.10 shows up on PayPal site.

    Any ideas?????

    Thanks!

  2. I tried testing your form but was not redirected to PayPal.

However, the total of the options and the product are sent to PayPal. Please try unhiding the product field, and make sure the options are attached to that product, then test again.

What is the reason you cannot use just products for this form? I don't understand your configuration.

  3. Hey there Chris.

Workshop atendees can register for any of the following variations:

    Friday only
    Friday + Sat
    Fri + Sun
    Sat + Sun
    All Weekend

There isn't really a 'base product price' per say... So I've created a hidden product (now set to $0.00) and added checkbox options to arrive at the overall price, depending on their selection.

PayPal addon is installed and configured, IPN is setup properly.

So currently when then the Hidden Product field is set to $0.00, no redirect to paypal occurs, even when checkbox options with appropriate prices are selected (product checkbox option field is set to required).

When the Hidden Product field is set to any price (say $0.10), user is sent to paypal, but the total in PayPal only shows the Hidden Product field price ($0.10) - even though additional required checkbox option fields were selected. So even if a registrant picks Full Weekend @ $250.00, only $0.10 shows up as the total in PayPal.

I know it's a bit of a roundabout way of going about it... but my client has specifically requested that registrants click checkboxes in order to choose the configuration they want to pay for....

    Hope this makes sense...

  4. It makes sense, but the PayPal add-on is not going to work properly when the form is configured like this. You are going to have to come up with another way to do it, if you need to have checkboxes.

  5. OK thanks Chris - I really appreciate the guidance. I'll figure out an alternative method.

    Cheers!
