anonymous forms - excluding hidden data like ip address

  1. Is there a way to exclude the hidden field data from being collected in a form? We would like to have a form that would allow no identifying information about the users who complete the form beyond what's asked in the form (no IP addresses or geo-loc).

    thanks!

  2. Have you figured out how to do this? We would like to do the same thing!

    Thanks!

  3. Alex posted a way to hide the IP address here:

I'd imagine you could keep it going with whatever else you'd like to omit.

  4. The information is still collected, but you are deleting it immediately after storing the entry.

  5. It would be great to have a way to stop this from being collected at all (in this case a requirement from a governing body who needs assurances that this is not collected) in the settings of any particular form. Adding snippits to functions.php (I'm assuming thats what Alex's code is for) for multi-site blogs is also not possible for normal users.

Thanks for any help on this!

  6. At this time, the solution which works is to add the code to functions.php. We'll mark it as a feature request for possible inclusion in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.
