Could not delete old plugin when trying to upgrade to new version

  1. I just inherited a website that had an old version of Gravity Forms installed on it. tried to upgrade the version(after purchasing and downloading), but get a message saying that the old version could not be deleted, so the upgrade failed. How do I upgrade AND KEEP all the forms I have on the file intact

  2. Delete the plugin folder at wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/ and then upload the latest version using the normal WordPress plugin installation screen. You will not lose any forms, entries or configuration that way. Do not UNINSTALL the plugin from the Settings page. That deletes everything, including database tables.

Removing the plugin files this way will not affect the database at all, so your entries and forms will be safe.
