Dev License Renewal

  1. I received an email that stated Your Gravity Forms Developer License will expire in 15 days. In order to continue receiving support and software updates, you must renew your license key.

I purchased my dev lic when it was lifetime, should I ignore this message?

    Thanks Jeff

  2. I'd like to know the same.

  3. @jchopick,
Your Personal License is lifetime, but your Developer license was purchased on July 14th, which is outside the cutoff date for the lifetime support

    @Jason,
Your purchase was July 27th, which is also outside the cutoff date for the lifetime support.

  4. Thanks. What was the lifetime cutoff? Thought that's what I purchased.

  5. The change went into effect May 1st, 2010.

  6. Carl, I spoke to you before I purchased my dev license and you said the cut off was july 31st. Also my dev license has always said never expires until I got this email. Something sounds wrong!

Hi Carl, I'm in the same boat here. I'm pretty sure I purchased a dev licence (and like Jeff, it used to say Never Expires) but now it says my 'personal' licence expires in 6 days? Definately not right in my eyes... Can you check for me please?

  8. Carl, here is the email you sent me.

    Hello Jeff,

Yes you will receive lifetime support and updates. We have a grace period on the deal to allow for people that wanted to upgrade to have time to do so. Plus we were out of town this past week so we were slower than usual to respond to requests.

I have created you an upgrade coupon code that will give you $50 off the price of the Developer License. Use this coupon code when checking out at http://www.gravityforms.com to receive your discount.

    Your coupon code is: CHOPICKDEV50

Once you purchase the Developer License you will receive a new license key that you will want to use on your sites. Be sure to swap it out.

    Cheers,

    Carl Hancock

  9. Sorry... I'm actually confused as to what the license is that I have to purchase? Do I have to purchase another license to continue using the plugins or is it just for support?

I was understanding that it was unlimited lifetime support./license. It was the first time today that I saw anything about renewing a license and anything about it expiring.

  10. @jchopick If you received an actual email from me saying you would receive lifetime support then simply contact me via email at carl@rocketgenius.com and provide the email if you still have it, otherwise I can search your email address to find it in my GMail. I did provide some users with lifetime support during that time period, but you would have to contact me to have it updated. You'll also see I never said the cutoff was July 30th in that email because May 1st was when the change went into effect and we gave some users until the end of May as a grace period. But drop me a line because you were one of the people I had told we would give lifetime support to.

@adamfoale You have purchased 2 licenses, a Personal License (then a single site license) on July 7th, 2010 and a Business License (then a multi-site license) on September 6th, 2010. Both after the new terms of service were in effect and neither of which are a Developer License. I don't see a Developer License order with your email address, so unless you placed it using a different email address I show no record of it.

@Jason You purchased a Developer License on July 27th, 2010. You receive 1 year of support and software updates. If you wish to continue receiving support and software updates, you will need to renew your license. License renewals are at a 50% discount for the Developer License so they are not full price. You can renew your license from the My Account page on this site.

The Pricing & Purchase page has clearly stated that only 1 year of support and software updates are included with your purchase since we implemented this policy on May 1st, 2010.
