Hi, Thomas,
First thing, there is a new version of the PayPal add-on that addresses some issues and has new functionality, so please install that first to see if the new version resolves your issue.
If you still have issues (or already have the latest) below are things to check:
1. Make sure the email address you specify as "PayPal Email Address" in the matches what you PayPal account uses.
2. Are you using Production or Test mode? If you have switched, is everything setup on PayPal's end for whichever mode you are using?
3. Does your PayPal account have IPN enabled still?
If none of this helps out, then can you send us an admin login using the Contact Us form and reference this topic so we can get in there and take a look?
