Drill Down Logic

  1. Hello,

    I am currently building an online print shop ordering system. I would like to use conditional logic to direct the product selection in a 'tree' fashion...a very basic example;

    1) Select Business card size (a) OR (b)
    2) Select Paper Finish (a) i OR ii -------- or is (b) selected earlier, (b) i OR ii
    3) Quantity (100, 250, 500 etc... - variation on price happens HERE based on the string of events)

    The problem I have is that when I try and direct the process, I AM able to control the second conditional field (ie Paper Finish) depending on which card size I choose but I can't figure out why BOTH or NEITHER of the last phase (Quantity) always show up even though I tell the Quantity field to either Show if ANY of the Paper Finish fields or HIDE if any the paper finish fields are present the Quantity field alternates based on the paper SIZE and Paper finish selected.

    I hope I'm clear and thank you so much for your help.

  2. It's hard to tell without a link to view the form to see it visually. If you can build the form without the logic, post a link to a page that contains it and then explain what you are trying to show/hide we can provide some input.

  3. My apologies, I should have given you a URL the first time. Here's a link to the page with the inserted form --- http://vanprint.com/temp/store/products/business-cards ---- I also have Cart66 running but the form is currently not a part of a Cart66 product. I've also added an image on that page to illustrate a basic example of what I mean. The fully functioning example I'm basing this all on is here --- http://gotprint.net/g/uploadBusinessCard.do ---

  4. Are you using all Option Fields or do you have a Product Field there? Option Fields require a Product Field in order to work properly and calculate a Total. You should probably make the Size field a Product field and then the options are options of the primary Product selection.

    Then add a Quantity field to your form and it will be tied to the Product field if there is only one Product field, if there is multiple Product fields there will be an option on the Quantity field to select which Product it is tied to.

  5. Thanks Carl...I realized that if I use the non-pricing based fields the conditional logic is more flexible. Works great!
