Email Notifications Not Coming Through

  1. We don't seem to be getting our notifications via email anymore. We can still see them by logging in and checking the entries but now all of the sudden they are not coming to us. I've double checked and they appear to be set up correctly.

    Any suggestions?

We have the following guide for troubleshooting notifications - http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Troubleshooting_Notifications Can you please go through it and see if you are able to isolate the issue?

  3. I have gone through the troubleshooting and contacted my hosting support. I was told that the scripting just needs to be configured to send through dedrelay.securserver.net. Could you tell me where I can find this section in the plugin files?

You will need to discuss this with your host. Is this a SMTP relay? If so, you'll need to install and configure a SMTP plugin in WordPress.

  5. Can I just modify the form script to send through dedrelay.securserver.net?

You would have to ask the creators of WordPress. Gravity Forms pushes notification messages to WordPress' sendmail script - wp-mail.php but I don't think it is that simple. Sorry.

  7. Would it be through my theme or WP framework?

No, all notifications are done through wp-mail.php. This isn't something theme related.

  9. Ok. I have tried the smtp relay several times but nothing is working. I did recently move servers and that seems to be when the issues started. Is there anything related to that that could be causing this issue since it is wordpress and we moved the database?

Here is a great article on why e-mail is so frustrating and what you might be able to do about it - http://yoast.com/email-reliability/

E-mail is primarily server based, so moving servers can definitely stop things from working, not because you moved but because different servers are configured in different ways.

  11. Thanks I'll read this. I just can't figure out why even my smtp settings won't work. Our email accounts work fine. The form entries are working because we can see them in our admin.
