Embedded form in a plain page

  1. I've searched the forum and don't see a solution to this...perhaps I've missed it. The options I have seen with Fancybox/Thickbox do not appear to be options that would work, although I am definitely open to those as options if I am misunderstanding those.

I want to insert a form into a page (using a short code) that contains only the form without any theme elements showing - looking more like the preview without the preview header. This would also be a page where it would be possible to direct link from an outside source.

If I can't find a solution that would run inside the existing WP install, I suppose I could do a new install in a sub directory with a stripped theme that would specifically handle the forms I need to host. (The more I consider this, the more I think that is the solution.)

  2. You can just create a plain page template and apply it to any pages you want without doing anything crazy. It's just a page and will have it's own permalink like any other, just will be formatted however you want.

You can refer to the "creating a page template" section here.. I think it's pretty much what you're looking for.
