Embedding a form within a buddypress group

    Hi,

I'm trying to embed a form within a Buddypress group, and having a few problems.

If I embed the form in a standard page on the site, it works perfectly. But using the same shortcode on a page within a Buddypress group, the form doesn't work. It displays on the page and all looks fine, but when I try to submit the form, the page just refreshes without submitting.

Is this a known issue with using forms in Buddypress groups, or is it likely to be specific to my site/plugin conflicts etc? Any ideas how I might be able to fix it?

    Thanks.

Can you link to an example form so I can take a look? I haven't put a Gravity Form on a BuddyPress group page before.

Thanks, that would be great but it's a private Buddypress group, could you perhaps tell me your email address and I'll add you to the group? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for your help on this last week David, but I'm wondering if I could get a little more advice please. After contacting the developers of Courseware (the plugin we thought was causing the conflict), I tried disabling their plugin to see if my Gravity Form would work inside the Buddypress group without it. And still it didn't work. So I'm wondering if maybe it's a bigger or different problem. Were you able to identify any further details about the conflict? I'm wondering if it might be related to a different plugin – or indeed if you've ever known Gravity Forms to work with a Buddypress site? Thanks.

I have seen people use Gravity Forms on BuddyPress sites, and if my memory serves me, you were able to use it in other places, just not on a specific page type in BuddyPress that was, I thought, controlled by the Courseware plugin.

I'm able to use the forms on standard pages on the site, but not pages that belong to a group. I've since discovered that this occurs even when Courseware is disabled. Any ideas what might be causing the problem, if not Courseware? Thanks.

So it looks like in certain areas of BuddyPress, a hook is not called that Gravity Forms needs. One of our developers has a workaround/solution coming for this, but he's currently on his honeymoon. When he gets back I'll confer with him again regarding the issue.

Awesome, look forward to it, thank you! Do you have an estimated time for this? Not to rush you at all – I'd just like to be able to tell my colleagues when we might hope to get it sorted. Will you post an update on this thread, or should I subscribe elsewhere? Thanks again.

I will post this here and try to remember to e-mail you as well. I will see about the ETA for you. I am not entirely sure which day he left/plans to come back.
