Fatal Error When Attempting to Activate after Installing Gravity Forms 1.5.2

  1. After installing Gravity Forms according to instructions, activation results in fatal error with the following message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/gravityforms.php on line 77

Can anyone suggest why this error occurs?
    Thanks! Jim

  2. Yep, I suggest you check out the FAQ page ;) It's a PHP version error. You need to upgrade your server to run PHP 5. You may need to contact your webhost to assist you with the upgrade.
