FireFox Compatibility Issues

  1. Hi, forms work fine across all browsers BUT when my forms are inserted into a page my pg background image is interrupted, stopping bout 1/4 of the way down in Firefox ONLY. This leaves half my page content without any background at all.

    Help!

  2. Nicster, please post a link to your site. We're going to have to see it first hand. Thank you.

  4. I did not see a form on that page. Additionally, the page looks the same in both Firefox 5 and Chrome 13 on Windows XP. Is there a form on a specific page that I can check? If so, please send the URL and also post a screenshot somewhere so I can see the issue you're seeing.

It did take a very long time to load.

  5. Yep, I checked this in Firefox 5 on both Mac and PC platforms and while the very large background image ( 948.1k ) took an extremely long time to load (in one case, 13 seconds for the page to load fully with the background image) the image did indeed load every time.

I can't see any evidence that this is a form-related issue. I think it's purely coincidental. This is just something you need to optimize in your theme.

  6. @Kevin thanks for the heads up, the background is back down to 190kb now.
@Chris it's on our "how to play" and "registration" pages see http://cashcall.tv/?page_id=2 / http://cashcall.tv/?page_id=4

when the forms are removed the background works on both pages.

    thanks guys :)

  7. by background I mean the transparent page background, not the main background.

  8. Okay I see that but it's still not form-related. There's something else going on in your theme. Have you looked at the source-code lately? There are tons of scripts and styles being output inline. It's a little sloppy. Overall your theme while very shiny, is really poorly constructed.

I copied your form page and put it on my test server. I removed the Gravity Forms markup and CSS reference and the problem persists in Firefox.

I'm not sure exactly what the origin of your problem is, but it probably has something to do with the fact that the content div is absolutely positioned and therefore isn't constrained by the bordered "box" with the background behind it. It could also be that there is a floated element somewhere in there that isn't being "cleared". It's going to take a little digging to figure it out.

I would give the support team at "StandardTheme" a shout and see if they can help you out with their theme.

  9. Thanks Kevin. You were 100% right. The page code wasn't wrapped in <div class="clear"></div>
    <div id="header-navigation" class="col-full"><p>....<div>

Definitely not a gravity form problem so I appreciate the extra effort you made to help me resolve this. GF rocks. :)
