Footer Issue after Adding GF

  1. Can someone take a peak at this page and see what is going on? Thanks so much!

    When I add the form it adds some white space under footer...when I take out GF it goes back to normal.

  2. Ed,

    I can't find anything in Gravity Forms that would be causing this. I think it's probably another plugin, combination of plugins, or your theme markup that's causing the spacing issue. I copied your page and put it on my shared dropbox folder, removed all of the Gravity Forms CSS, markup, etc. and the extra spacing issue persists.

    Since there's no Gravity Forms code there, it's safe to say that we can rule that out. Usually when this happens, it's extra line breaks in the markup at the end of the footer.. some browsers ignore it, but some browsers actually render spacing based on the line breaks. Your theme has lots of inline HTML comments and there are a lot added by the various plugins as well. I'm not 100% sure that's it, but you may try toggling some of your plugins off to see if that fixes it and also check your theme files for extra spacing/line breaks at the end of the file.

  4. Update: When deactivating all plugins there is still the issue...when i delete the shortcode from the page everything works fine,,,the white space is gone in the footer. I even added shortcode to new page and the white space arrives on new page...Any ideas...really need a fix?

  5. Have you tried switching to the default theme and seeing if there is an issue? I still can't see anything Gravity Forms related that might cause the display problem. If there was something, I'm sure we would have encountered more instances of it by now. I'm pretty sure it's theme-related. If you will, please test a couple of other themes including the default TwentyTen theme and let me know how you fare.

  7. I got it...It's the captcha that's causing the issue...any fix?

  8. Still can't see where the Captcha would be causing this problem. As I mentioned before, we're not seeing this on other sites using the reCaptcha. Have you tried another theme as I suggested so we can establish whether the issue persists on other forms?

  9. Did you get this corrected? I'm not seeing any whitespace under the footer when going to that site link. Everything appears fine.

  10. I'm using google chrome and it's still has white space under footer...only when using captcha - let me see with default theme.

  11. Did not happen with Twenty Ten...must be something with the theme....only happens with Captcha though...crazy.

  12. There is something in that theme that is using javascript to add an iframe to the bottom of the page, that iframe is what is causing the white space you see. It is odd that it only happens with Captcha. It's going to be something javascript related with that theme, which is why TwentyTen doesn't have this issue. You would have to try and narrow down by adding/removing things to your theme to determine what is causing the conflict.

  13. I'm still getting this footer issue with almost every theme I use....see here:
    http://www.arrangedrecords.com/contact-me/ - If I disable the captcha it works fine...I tried using the below code but it's not working...any thoughts here as this happens so much if not using the default themes...

    .page-id-10 #sub_footer {margin-bottom:-40px!important;}

  15. In this screenshot http://minus.com/lbzah47FZPylVc can you point out where the extra space is which you want to remove? Between which element and which other element?
