Form to allow addingposts with photos on Memorial website

  1. Am seeking to add a form to allow adding posts with photos and comments to a Memorial site. This would be for friends to post memories and recollections of the live of the departed. Can you share how you created that form or direct to documentation to accomplish that? Thanks.

  2. What sort of fields will your form have in it? Sounds like a straightforward use of the post fields to collect data and create a post using Gravity Forms. What did you try and what was the result, or where did you get hung up. Do you have your form online now?

  3. The form would have what's needed to create a WordPress Post, "Title", "Post Content", and ability to upload photos that would be part of the post. Haven't started yet as wasn't sure how to start this.

  4. That is all very easy in the Form Builder. Log in to your WordPress site, navigate to the Forms menu, and add a new form. Be sure to use the Post Fields so that the data you capture is going to become a post. If you get stuck after you get started, let us know.

    See Post Fields here:

If you have created any forms at all in Gravity Forms, creating a form to create a post is not much different. Some of the required fields are different; that's about it.

  6. Well, almost.... OK, I got the form to create a draft post. My question is how do I get the post to appear that it is from the submitter of the post. The post is showing that the author is the person who was the recipient of the email notice that includes the post. Appears the author of the post has to be a registered user in the Dashboard. How do you accomplish that via the submission of the post. (that is their first contact/visit to the site).

  7. If you want the post author to be the visitor, that visitor needs to be registered first. You can use our user registration add-on to accomplish both at the same time. I am not sure of another way to combine the registration function and the creation of the post.
