1. How can I change the place/link where the user routed right after he activated his account?
e.g. at the moment it routes user to the page with username and password info, I want to change it.
2. How can I customize the content of activation mail?

I actually created a plugin for this :

This is unfortunately not what I was looking for.
The main interest is to change: gf_activation page (http://coolsite.com/?page=gf_activation&key=ce56fe7d40b61caf) the way it will route just activated account to custom page, I set.

I used the tutorial from gravitywiz.com.
Rather than open a new ticket, I'm going to post this as a follow-on, I don't see a fix for OP's Issue 2.
Looks like the activation key is added to standard user notification on Line 66 of includes/signups.php:
function is modify_signup_user_notification_message
Any ideas for hooking in here and customising the text other than hacking the plugin? (I didn't suggest that, promise).
