    Hi,
as we are very intered n the new functions implemented in the 1.6 version I was willing to test the RC5. After copying the files from the archive to the plugin folder, the wp-admin interface doesn't give any counts anymore. Are we to execute any script to finalise the installation?

  2. Hi Chris,

Not sure I follow the issue? But when in doubt, try re-installing. After reinstalling, go ahead and make sure the plugin is still activated. If you're still having issues, just give me some more details on what you're experiencing. :)

  3. David, could you expand on how to install the Beta? Sounds basic but...

    - Is there a way to auto installed? If I manually FTP is it to a new 1.6 folder?

    - Or do I upload all files over 1.5.3? Would it screw up current registration key?

I'm mostly doing this so I can use the registration feature (where I user need to be login/register) to see a form... or is it not worth the chance and better wait for the final release?

@David. My question is very similar to espimedia. To install the beta 1.6 I downloaded the file to my compter, then uploaded them to my website into plugins/gravityforms folder.
When calling the main plugin page (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_edit_forms) , we usually get counts for each formulars, but instead all columns are back to '0'. If I upload back the 1.5.3 files all the counts are correct.
Can you tell us how to install the 1.6?

  5. Here's how I do it.

I use a shell with command line access, but you can do this with FTP as well.

    • Unzip the RC5 release candidate in your desktop
    • Delete the gravityforms folder in FTP on your server
    • Upload the new gravityforms folder (it will be called gravityforms just like it was initially - it's not version numbered or anything)
    • Log in to your wp-admin and visit the Gravity Forms setting page to see if there is anything new
    • Check a few of your forms

I don't activate and deactivate. I remove the original directory, and upload a new version, in a directory of the same name.

I don't like copying files inside the folder and hoping they are all replaced properly. That never seems to work well.

Let me know if that works for you. Please back up first and don't try on a production site as this is still pre-release software.

  6. Replacing the code like this does not affect the license key or entries in the database.

There is no way to install the beta or release candidate automatically.
